| A Great Give Away! | | Posted on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 5:00am | Dr. Mary Manz Simon is one of my favorite people. Her books have sold nearly 3 million copies and her advice to parents, teachers, and anyone who cares about children is phenomenal. I consider Dr. Mary a long distant mentor. I’ve admired her for years as a resource for parenting. Her presentations and blogs are packed with information and parenting advice and trends.
DaySpring has come out with two products by Dr. Mary. Both would make great gifts for moms or for yourself!
The Family Planner. This 16- month calendar is packed with great family activities from Dr. Mary. It includes scriptures, advise, a note section, a telephone and emergency directory, and holidays. It also has cute stickers that represent appointments, special events and days, church, and more—AND and handy storage pocket. Dr. Mary thought of everything a busy family would need.
Realtime Parenting: Tips and Encouragement for Today's Busy Moms
This is a padded standup calendar with daily tidbits of advice from Dr. Mary. Nuggets of her insight are combined with specially selected Bible verses in a calendar you'll refer to day after day.
Sample writings from Realtime Parenting:
January 10
Make a time capsule treasure for a relative. Ask each family member to write a poem or a congratulatory note or draw a picture. Add a cove and the date, and mail the keepsake.
April 18
Increase the time you spend listening to your child today. Decrease the time you spend talking.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. Jeremiah 31:3
Give Away!
DaySpring graciously gave me several copies of both products—Five of the Family Planner and four of Realtime Parenting. Dr. Mary signed all of them for me.
I will give one of these away to the first nine moms who either leave a Ask Mom question or your favorite piece of motherhood advice The Spiritual Mom blog. Leave your question or bit advice with your email address so I can contact you.

It is so exciting, but I am really thinking and wanting to homeschool him. I want him to be in a public christian school for his first year of preschool because I want him to learn that authority also comes from other adults. After his first year I would love to have him at home with me, so I can teach him more in the things of God. I think these resources could be a great start in learing how to incorporate teaching scriptures and being focused on the things that matter most - our children!! I can't wait to follow your blog! I am looking for great advice, and new ideas. Have a blessed day.

Suzette says: I deeply admire people who can achieve home schooling. In our community there is a very strong support network for homeschoolers, with the kids going to other homes for some subjects or playgroups. Its really amazing.
