Today I participated in a day of prayer –Arise! Cry Out!—for our children and our schools, sponsored by Moms in Touch International. My children are grown, but it brought back memories of how God worked mightily in our family during our twenty years in the public school arena. Praying with this amazing group of faithful women standing in the gap for children was a privilege and blessing.
Moms in Touch International is:
- Two or more moms who meet regularly to pray for their children, their schools, their teachers and administrators.
- Mothers, grandmothers or anyone who is willing to pray for a specific child and school.
- Moms who believe that prayer makes a difference.
I first heard about Moms-in-Touch when my children were in grade school in Colorado. Fern Nichols started the group when her sons were starting junior high. Fern called like-minded moms who gathered each week to pray for their children and school, and thus began the first Moms in Touch group. What started so simply in 1984 has grown into a worldwide community of praying moms in every state and in more than 120 countries around the world.

I praise God for these faithful prayer warrior moms who have seen miracles happen in their children’s school. Now, more than ever, we need to pray for God to move mightily in the hearts of our children, whether they are in public school or homeschooled.
Spiritual moms and grandmothers, let's make certain our children and grandchildren know how much Jesus loves them.
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law, (Deuteronomy 29:29).
